Brothers

I've been teaching Gehrig piano lessons once a week. He's really not quite ready for it, but I figured I could do something once a week with him. I asked him to try and practice on his own each morning. This was the first morning he did it and I was amazed at how well he did without me. Anyway. . .Damian wanted Gehrig to teach him too. It was so cute to see them practicing together.

Gehrig has become quite the reader these days. He was reading a new book to Damian and I really got a kick out of seeing how much fun they were having together reading this book. Look at Gehrig's hand on Damian's shoulder in the first picture and how his hand is around Damian in the next picture. I also love how excited Damian was in the second picture and how he's pointing something specific out to Gehrig.

Emma is cutting her first tooth. She is 7 months old now. I don't want her to grow up! I absolutely loved 6 months old. She could sit up on her own, but couldn't get around. She adored me and never really got upset. I wish I could freeze this age. She's still sweet and fun to be around, but I know what's coming--probably this month. MOBILITY! YIKES!! I'm not ready for it. The boys both crawled by 7 months. Emma doesn't seem quite so inclined, but it will happen sooner or later. By the way, she doesn't really have a necklace of her own. She was trying on a little necklace I made for our little 5 year old friend's birthday.

The boys thought is was fun to have Emma wear their glasses.

Damian was invited to a pool party. He was being uncharacteristically shy, but eventually came out of his shell and had a great time! The weather has been unbearably hot, so the water felt great! Posted by Picasa

Last week we visited Uncle Don. The boys discovered the wheel chair and were quite good at manipulating it together. What a team!

Uncle Don is always such a positive person to be around. We sure love him!

Gehrig is trying to help my baby grow up! STOP!! I can't have her go mobile on me yet! Posted by Picasa

Our Son, Quasimodo

Well. . .not 5 seconds after I told the boys to take their rough-housing outside, THIS happened. Damian's head collided with Gehrig's right eye after jumping off the banister (something that has always been forbidden in our house). When I heard the screaming from both of them, I knew it was bad news. I hardly dared go and look. Gehrig's injury was obvious, so I grabbed a bag of peas for him and then checked out Damian. I couldn't believe how big the bump on his head was (you can't really tell in the picture). So. . .the boys joined each other on the couch, one with frozen peas on his eye and one with frozen mixed vegetables on his head. Posted by Picasa

Like Father, Like Son

Everyone says that Gehrig's new haircut makes him look more like his daddy.

The Cabin in July

I love this time of year at the cabin. The flowers are incredible!

The boys discovered a couple of garter snakes in the pits between the two cabins. They were in heaven searching for them! Posted by Picasa

Fun at the Lake

We had a blast spending a few days last week at the cabin.

Maybe I shouldn't have her in a bikini, but have you seen a cuter babe in a bikini? :)

Aren't Aspen & Emma cute little buddies?

Daddy & Daughter

I love the way Emma just soaks in the kisses. And I love the way Lou loves to give them to her so freely. As you can see in the top right pictures, she loves to give them back too! :) Posted by Picasa

Vegas

Lou, Emma and I took a short trip to Vegas this week. We enjoyed visiting our friends, Kevin & Angela Otis. The boys had a blast in Idaho with Grammie & Grandpa! Posted by Picasa

Library Books

The boys are participating in the library summer reading program. Today, when we went to the library, we found these books for 25 cents each. I couldn't resist buying one for each of them. Oh, and by the way, what do you think of Gehrig's summer haircut?  Posted by Picasa

4th of July Celebrations!

Yesterday for Family Home Evening, we took the kids to the West Jordan 4th of July celebration. They had fun at the petting zoo, watching a singing/dancing group and most of all, painting to their heart's content.

This morning was our Stake 4th of July party. This fun tradition begins with a program (mostly
patriotic music and also some inspirational thoughts). Then, the scouts raise the flag, we eat donughts and juice and the children's favorite--the candy cannon! We were treated with a fly-by (4 synchronized jets). The picture barely catches them.

This is the cannon that a member of our stake made. He puts candy in it and shoots it out for the kids to catch and pick up. It's a blast! If you look at the sky picture closely, you'll see the candy flying.

To top off our morning, Damian and Gehrig found a snake in the grass! They were delighted! You also have to look closely in the picture on the right to see the snake.

Saturday--Work Day!

Lou is helping Emma grow and develop. I, on the other hand, don't want her to learn how to crawl, walk, talk. . .etc. She's perfect just the way she is! :) Isn't she cute standing there almost by herself?
The boys had fun helping me clean my car again. Posted by Picasa
