Visiting Santa & Gehrig's School Christmas Program

After taking our Kiddie Kandid pictures, we stood in line to visit with Santa. Damian and Emma weren't too sure about him, but Damian quickly warmed up. Emma. . .well, she cooperated. The boys both wanted a train set and peanuts. Santa must have read my mind because he told them that maybe he would bring one by for them to share. Hmmm. . .they might just get their wish.

This is Gehrig's (& Annie's, his best friend/neighbor) kindergarten teacher, Ms. McKenzie. She has been wonderfully attentive and tough--just what Gehrig needs. Their Christmas Program was so darling!

You have to notice his expression on the top right picture. He was so excited! You catch that excitement in the other pictures as well. Unfortunately, my camera wasn't ready to snap when Gehrig held up his picture. Posted by Picasa

More Christmas Early Pictures. . .

A couple fun shots of the boys. I gave them wall stickers to decorate their beat-up walls! What a hit! They had a blast putting them up. Damian gave Gehrig a life jacket (we needed another one for next summer).

Emma was so darling with her new toys! I love how she's hugging the monkey and laughing on the rocking horse (which I painted and with some drilling help from Lou, I added hair) and stacking her toys in the bottom left picture. We let the kids eat on the gingerbread house we made for Gehrig's birthday. Lou actually took this cute shot of Emma taking her turn!

Christmas a Little Early. . .

Lou wasn't able to visit his family in Louisiana last year when the kids and I went, so he's going there for Christmas this year while we are going to Idaho (funds preventing us from joining him). So. . .we celebrated Christmas as a family this morning. We had a fun time together, enjoying a breakfast of pancakes and strawberry cream, eggs and bacon and then opening and playing with several gifts. We saved a couple of gifts for Christmas in Idaho.

Gehrig found these fun stuffed animals several months ago to give to his siblings. They loved them! Even Emma was excited about her little monkey, as you will note in a later picture. The family got a circus train which they had to learn to share (barring one incident, they did quite well sharing it). In the bottom right picture, you may note the boys helping Emma open one of her gifts. They love to help! Posted by Picasa

More Birthday Pictures. . .

Grammie & Grandpa sent Gehrig a package with a model airplane for him and covered wagon for Damian. They were very excited!

Gehrig's dinner wish was to have shrimp and eat out. We went to Fazoli's as a family. They gave him a combo meal for FREE (my kind of deal!). Do you see his shrimp in the first picture? Emma wasn't in the best mood as you can probably tell by her picture.

Just before bedtime, Gehrig opened his last two gifts. A movie from Emma, Atlantis, and a learning game from Mama & Daddy called, Twist & Shout (teaching addition). I think he had a great birthday and we're so happy to have him in our family.

Gehrig turned 6 on 12/6/2006

We invited our neighbors over to decorate gingerbread houses to celebrate Gehrig's birthday. He chose that over a cake and it was a fun activity for them all. Damian gave him the game, Battleship and we gave him a set of 8 books that he can read. He was very excited!

Sibling Fun

I just love it when my kids play so well together. Gehrig and Emma were having such a fun time together. Gehrig is the "spotlight" this week in kindergarten, hence the crown!

By the way, I apologize for taking so long to update. Two problems. . .I haven't been taking many pictures & my computer is so loaded with pictures that I have had a really hard time blogging lately. It takes a LONG time. I'm hoping to clean off my hard drive soon so that it won't be so difficult. Posted by Picasa

Our Christmas Tree!!

With a little help from Daddy, the kids were able to decorate the top of our 7 foot tree. I let them do the decorating all by themselves. They did a pretty good job. As you can see in the right picture of Emma, she is a little afraid of our tree. Convenient, actually! :)
