Damian Enters a Hair Contest

Suzanne told me about a hair contest that Johnson's (shampoo) is having. Since we can't seem to go anywhere without people commenting on his hair, I figured this would be a fun contest to enter. I probably should have found or taken the perfect picture to enter, but I was too lazy to do anything but find an old shot I had of him. I thought this picture did a pretty good job of showing his hair "all natural." Isn't he a darling boy?! :)

Variety, the Spice of our Lives!

Posted by PicasaIt is completely random what pictures my computer seems to let me post and what pictures it won't. I don't get it. Anyway. . .my sister-in-law, Suzanne, took pictures of her boys' beautiful eyes and posted them on her blog. I loved it so much, I stole her idea. I tried to post them larger one right after the other, but it didn't work, so I'm glad that this collage worked at least! I just thought it was fun to see the different shades of eye and skin color we have in our family. In case you can't tell who's who, from top left to right it's Lou, Angela, Gehrig then bottom left to right is Damian, Emma & Isaiah. Two shades of brown, 3 shades of blue and 1 shade of green. Not bad, eh? :)

The Rocky Mountain Raceways

The Rocky Mountain Raceways is close enough to our home that we hear their loud cars in the evenings a lot throughout the summer. On Saturday we got a flyer inviting us to come and see the races for FREE! So. . .we packed up our family of 6 (YIKES!) and went out in the over 100 degree weather to see what all the noise was about. I was worried about the heat for the babies and the noise, but they did great! Emma loved it, the boys loved it, Isaiah did amazingly well, I found it interesting once I figured out the scoreboard and how to watch it, and Lou liked it for about a half hour. The kids weren't ready to go as early as he was, so we stuck around until intermission (about 1 1/2 hours in sweltering heat). I think the wrecks were our favorite part (since nobody got hurt). Sadly, I didn't bring my camera so I have no picture of our sweaty family with oversized baseball caps (Lou thought to bring a few of his caps for the kids--it was especially darling to see Emma with his cap turned sideways on her head). Sorry!

Grandma Harris & Tee Tee Kaye Come to Visit

Well, I've tried time and time again to post a picture with this entry, but it just won't take it. I don't get it. Anyway. . .this is what I wrote over a week ago to go with a great picture of Lou's Mom & Sister. . . I can't believe I don't have more pictures from their visit, but we had a wonderful time with Lou's mother and sister visiting last week. They were a pleasure to have in our home. The children loved the attention and I loved seeing them getting to know their Louisiana relatives better. The time passed much too quickly. We were able to spend the 4th of July together and the rest of that week into Monday of the next week together. Mama and Kaye helped me in my flower beds and yard and gave me a great boost for future improvement. We all miss them now that they have gone. We hope to see them and the rest of the family soon! Aren't they beautiful women?!

Our 4 Newborns

Posted by PicasaI know this isn't the greatest way to see these pictures, but it's the easiest way for me to show you. I took these pictures of each of our babies when they were 1 month and 9 days old (I think that's what it is). It's fun to compare them at that age. Lou is a good sport to do the pictures each time, but his patience for a long photo shoot has dwindled down to about 2 minutes. So. . .my picture of Isaiah and Emma weren't exactly as I'd have wanted them, but I'm grateful that he'll do it since I started something with Gehrig.

The latest from Kiddie Kandids!

This is Damian's 5 year picture. He will turn 5 on August 2nd, just a couple of weeks away. We took these pictures today at Kiddie Kandids and I asked myself, "WHY do I torture myself so???" Well, I guess the pictures are evidence of why I go through the torture of getting 4 children ready, to the mall and through 2 photo sessions. YIKES!!!
