Cub Country

Gehrig had so much fun at Cub Country--his cub scout day camp. He spent last Friday and Saturday with friends like Ian and Lincoln and Josh. He came home the first day with a request for money to buy his siblings each an elastic or pop gun (he already has one) at the trading post. I thought it was so cute that he was only thinking of his siblings. I sent him with $16 to buy them each a $5 gun, but if it cost more than that, he was not to buy them. I was so impressed that when he found they were $10, he didn't buy one. He just bought one pop gun for $2 (for Emma and Isaiah) and spent 75 cents on himself (thinking the extra dollar was for him). What a good kid! (You should see him grinning over my shoulder right now--he's eavesdropping).

4th of July Celebration at the Stake Park

We were a part of the traditional 4th of July celebration for our stake this year. The kids were in a children's choir that performed 3 patriotic songs. They practiced every week for a month before the performance. I accompanied one of their songs and then accompanied a few sing-a-long songs. It turned out really nice and all had a good time.

It's totally cool. . .(a line from one of their songs--Damian forgot to be cool!)

America Rocks. . .!!! (Can you see Emma shooting her arm in the air?)

The Candy Cannon (they shoot candy out of a cannon several times for the kids to collect--watch out! When it hits you, it hurts! I found that out a couple of times this year.) Can you see Lou helping the little ones find candy? I love the one of Emma and Isaiah from the back watching and waiting. The four of them are showing their bags with their "loot." Emma and Isaiah picked up this hat and put it on. It was cute enough for a picture! Oh, and that's Emma trying to blow a bubble with her gum!

Ward Campout 2010

We had so much fun at our ward camp out over the 4th of July weekend!

The groundhogs, chipmunks and squirrels were all over the place. Everybody had fun feeding them. Emma was trying to get them to eat right out of her hand (b/c they would), but she just couldn't sit still long enough to let them do it! That's okay by me! :)

The campfire. . .need I say more?

Gehrig had fun taking some pictures of us and the scenery.

Lou was anxious to get home, so we had to miss the hike the next morning, but as it turned out, we should have gone with them. . .Car troubles again! Last year we had troubles on our way to the camp. This year the bigger troubles were for another ward member, but we still had some of our own. . .

The kids enjoyed making Smores while I read by the campfire and Lou helped one of our fellow ward members fix his truck and then got them to jump start us! :)

Mama & TeeTee Kay Visit

We were so excited to have Lou's mom and sister come to visit us again! We've missed them. They were only here from Friday evening the 25th of June until 4AM Monday morning the 28th, but we thoroughly enjoyed their short visit. We enjoyed visiting, eating out at the Golden Coral, going to Westfest together (well, just Kay, Gehrig, Emma and I went), going to church together, having a barbeque with a few friends and visiting the Campbells.

This isn't the best picture of Lou's mom to show what I see (b/c her eyes aren't as open as they usually are and that's where I see the resemblance), but. . .I just think Lou looks so much like his mom in these pictures! Can you see it?

7 PEAKS in Provo
The kids earned a free pass to the water park, 7 Peaks, for reading during the school year. So. . .I braved it and took them there for a day last month. I'm so sorry I didn't get pictures of Chelsea & Mary who (happily for me) joined us for much of the day. The kids had a blast! I enjoyed watching them, so I guess I had a good time too! :) (It can be a bit stressful making sure you know where all 4 children are at all times in a crowded place like that!). We stayed there for about 6 hours and then ordered pizza and took it to the Scera Park and ate it. It was a crazy fun-filled day! Another highlight for me was the Nutrimill (wheat grinder) that I was able to pick up from a lady in Orem on our way home. With the money I got from my old wheat mill and an old cell phone, I was able to buy this barely used Nutrimill! Here's to healthier eating!

I forgot to mention that after 7 Peaks, we took advantage of a 2 for 1 at the outdoor pool by our house. It has a big slide and a kiddie section and the kids had an absolute blast there! We went twice in one week. I enjoyed it much more than 7 Peaks! It wasn't crowded and it's MUCH smaller, but has just what the kids wanted. They're getting much better at swimming with repeated experiences. Maybe I'll just go more often rather than pay for swimming lessons.

I just thought this was too cute when I came outside and found Isaiah following his daddy around the yard with his toy lawnmower. When he saw that I had my camera, he immediately stopped following Lou and posed for a cheesy picture! The ham!

I wanted to get a recent picture of everybody for a mousepad I was ordering, so here is a sampling of the pictures of us all.

Cousins!

Since it's been a month since I last blogged, I'm going to have to make these next entries, extra short and sweet to get through everything. It's been a CRAZY fun (especially for the kids) summer so far!

We were so excited to have a visit from our Harris cousins, Suzanne, Gehrig III and Xavier (sorry to have missed Len and Davion). The kids had a blast playing outside on the trampoline with the sprinkler under it.

Emma, Xavier (just a couple of months older than her), Gehrig III and Isaiah

Gehrig III and Damian are only a few months apart. Can you believe the size difference? And my boys have always been the tall ones for their age!

I tried to get a picture of Xavier before he left (without the swimming attire), but he was running from me--as was Suzanne. :)
