Emma's First Solids, etc.

I let the boys feed Emma her first solids. I love the expressions on their faces and Emma's interest in and then lack of enthusiasm for the food. Of course, she was willing to try it again and again.

Emma & Cannon are both getting pretty good at sitting up on their own now. It was so cute to see and hear them interacting with each other.

Lili & Jason were able to visit with us yesterday. They are so darling with the children! Also, Brinn was the fun auntie reading to the kids outside. Posted by Picasa

Ward Campout

Last weekend was our ward campout at Pine View in Kamas, Utah. It is a beautiful place for a campout. The boys were pretty excited about sleeping in a tent.

Expert marshmallow roasters!

Lou brought his computer and let the boys watch Bugs Bunny when it was time for bed. Posted by Picasa

Bonneville 7th Ward Friends

Many of our good friends from our Provo ward came to our house for a party this evening (42 of them to be exact). We enjoyed visiting and eating even though it was incredibly windy!

West Fest

Last year on this ride, Damian was so scared we had to stop the ride and get him off. You can tell in the upper left picture how much fun he had, but in the bottom right picture you can see the times when he wasn't so sure about it.

I think Lou had as much fun on this ride as the boys. He said it was fun to hear the boys talk about their experience in the air. One would say, "It makes my stomach feel funny." Then the other would say, "It makes my bottom feel funny."

This ride was boring compared to the other two, but the boys had fun anyway.

Swords & hats from the clown! I love how Damian has his hand on Gehrig's back in the upper left picture. Posted by Picasa

West Fest

Our city carnival (West Fest) was tonight. The boys had a blast. They were able to support their friend Annie as she performed and then Lou showed up and took them for some rides. Then he bought 4 shots for $5 and made the basket in 2 to win this HUGE monkey! The boys were pretty tickled. After that, we took them to see a clown and have him make them swords and hats. It was fun evening for all! (Sorry, this is less than eloquent--it's late and I'm tired!) Posted by Picasa

The Fountains!

We and 9 other carloads of friends went to The Fountains at the Gateway in Salt Lake today. As you can see, the boys had a blast! Every half hour they shoot the fountains up to the beat of awesome music. The boys in this first picture put cups on the holes and then watched them shoot up when the fountains erupted! We packed a lunch had a couple of fun hours there today.
Darling little Emma looks on dreaming of next year when she can join in on the fun! She's 6 months old today!! Posted by Picasa

Damian Learns to Ride His Bike

Well, he finally did it! Last night we took a family bike ride to a party at a neighbor's house. Damian pushed himself there (having already been practicing his balancing for quite some time). On the way home, he finally ventured to put his feet on the pedals and immediately caught on. He told Lou he didn't need his help any more. As you can see, he already needs a new bike! This one's too small, but was helpful in patiently teaching him how to ride. You can see in his expression how tickled he is to be riding all by himself!
And then of course, there's Gehrig, the daredevil, seasoned rider. It's amazing he hasn't hurt himself with all the little tricks he likes to try on his bike. Posted by Picasa

We're Tree-Eaters, huh Damian?

That's what I heard Gehrig say after I gave him and Damian the stump from the broccoli to eat (at their request). They went from the stump to the "trees" and munched on broccoli for quite a bit. Where did these boys come from? What my mom wouldn't have given to have me be that kind of an eater! I guess I'll have to credit Lou with their great "unpicky" appetites! Posted by Picasa

Emma in Lavendar

Emma will be 6 months old on Wednesday! I can't believe how fast she's growing and changing. This first picture shows a couple of changes for Emma. First, she is always sticking out her cute little tongue. And, now she gets a pigtail and bow instead of a glued on bow. She has also discovered her vocal chords & is quite noisy in church! And she can sit up on her own (although you can't leave her alone because she eventually falls down).

This is another favorite face she makes!

And, of course, the almost ever-present smile! Posted by Picasa

Fund Raiser for Cancer patient

We were able to attend a neighborhood fund raiser for a 14 year old girl in our neighborhood who has been fighting cancer for the past 2 years and medical bills are becoming overwhelming.

I got a HUGE smile out of Emma right after I took this shot, but I think this so precious, I can hardly stand it. Look at those big blue eyes and those perfect lips. I just want to squeeze her all day long!

The highlight of the evening for the boys wasn't the food, ice-cream, tour of the fire truck & ambulance, games & toys. It was this MONSTER Jeep driving over the "beat cancer" car! Every boy's dream--big & little. Posted by Picasa

Neighborhood Fund Raiser Party

Ahh. . . .cotton candy! Need I say more?

The boys were able to take a tour of the fire truck & the ambulance.

Barbecue Fish Anyone?

The fun still kept on as Lou barbecued the fish for the boys (and my marinated chicken--wish I liked fish). Gehrig was pretty tickled with the fish! (By the way, it was a decent sized Rainbow Trout.)
