Online Choir

Have you ever heard of such a thing? Yep, our school put together an online choir. They sent us the music and twice a week, we went online and sang along with the teacher that we could see through video streaming. Then, last week, we went to two different care centers and performed for the first time together. It was such a good experience. They learned 5 fun patriotic songs. My favorite part was taking them around and meeting the people at the care centers. The boys were reluctant to talk to them the first day. On the second day, I promised them ice cream if they could tell me the names of 5 people they met. They were much better at it the second day and met some really fun people. One of our favorites, was Al, a retired high school math teacher, football and baseball coach. He told us he could help them any time with their math homework. I'm tempted to take them back and let him teach them. They've been less than enthusiastic about math, but it might be neat for them to learn it from an expert! :)

They had earned coupons to Famous Dave's, so after performing on Wednesday, I took them there to eat. They had a great time, as you can see.

That does sound fun. And what a good experience for the kids to sing to those sweet old people!

You are such a good mom. What a smart way to motivate them! I would love to watch Gehrig and Damian talk with those people. I bet their can be some fun conversation between them!

It's amazing how many rich experiences you provide for your children without putting out money. You are a great example of the "can do" attitude!
