Our Last Day
Katie is an amazing tour guide! We made a list the night we got there of the places to see and tried to prioritize them in case we couldn't make it to them all. We made it to every place on the list (starting the evening we arrived until the moment we needed to get to the airport). Thank you Katie for taking a whole week of your time to show us the sights of DC (5 months pregnant with a babe in arms!)--to sights that you have seen numerous times! I'm so glad I went and it was so fun to spend the time with you and your cute family!
Our morning began early with a trip to the office Katie has been working for the last 4 years (Idaho state senator, Larry Craig). We met him and got pictures with him. Then, one of her interns took us on a tour of the state Capitol. What a beautiful building!! The picture below shows an amazingly beautiful (and expensive) chandelier in the building.
We ran from our Capitol tour to a quick tour of the White House (we were in such a hurry and thought there was more to it that we made the tour in 15 minutes!). What a great week! Thank you, thank you!! And also many thanks to Lou for taking so much time off work to be with the children and to my mother and cousins for helping out when he had to be at work! The kids had a great week too!!Our morning began early with a trip to the office Katie has been working for the last 4 years (Idaho state senator, Larry Craig). We met him and got pictures with him.
